I Advise People Against Starting a Marketing #Agency Nowadays

The allure is fascinating—start an agency, hire some freelancers, and continue doing that for some years until you don’t land a big project.

But, here’s a bitter truth!

Firstly: An agency isn’t just a collection of freelancers. It’s a dedicated team of professionals solely focused on their clients’ success. When brands hire agencies, they’re investing in collaborative expertise and committed focus – something they could achieve themselves by directly hiring freelancers if that’s all they needed.

Believe me, an entrepreneur who can start a brand, can also identify and hire freelancers.

Here’s what I’ve learned as an entrepreneur, founder of multiple ventures, and business & marketing strategist: There are numerous opportunities for businesses in the market.

Today, the real opportunity lies in building consumer-focused brands. We’re experiencing a golden era where consumers are increasingly willing to spend on quality products and services. This trend is expected to continue growing for at least another decade. (Secondly & most importantly)

If you have:
– Patience
– Determination
– Willingness to work hard

You can build a successful consumer brand in today’s market.

However, if you’re still set on building an agency, here’s the right path:

1) Hone your skills under industry experts
2) Gain substantial work experience working under them, probably as an employee, before you become an employer
3) Invest in professional training – learn from real mentors & experts
4) Build a proper team on payroll – where you must be willing to put their needs & salaries on top priority and ahead of yours.
5) Launch when you’re truly ready

Remember: A real agency is built on professional expertise, not just freelance connections.

What are your thoughts on this? Have you considered the consumer brand route?
P.S. I launched my agency 8 years ago, backed by a decade of expertise and the ability to personally lead any project, and a team of professionals – who I have always prioritized!
